The Chemeca 2019 Committee encourages papers that explore the emerging opportunities and challenges for the chemical engineering profession and process industries throughout our region around this theme. Abstract submission guidelines and key dates

Please ensure that your abstract is submitted online through the submission portal by Friday 29 March 2019 and that your abstract complies with the following criteria:

  • submit the abstract via the online portal:

  • overall abstract word count, excluding the scientific title, authors and affiliations must not exceed 300 words

  • abbreviations - full text on first mention followed by abbreviation of first parenthesis

  • use the abstract/ full paper template - download the Chemeca 2019 abstract and paper template >>

  • select one theme that best relates to your abstract

  • select your presentation preference (oral or poster)

  • key words are to be included at the conclusion of your abstract

  • ensure all authors and affiliations are included (maximum 6x authors)

  • submit a short 100x word biography for the presenting author (this is separate to the abstract word count)

  • upon successful submission of your abstract, the submitter will receive a confirmation email containing the submitted abstract details. Please keep a record of these details.

  • you will be able to edit your abstract until the call for papers closes on Friday 29 March 2019. If you have submitted the abstract, please email the revised abstract to:

  • accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper containing the same abstract

  • to withdraw a submitted abstract, email:

NOTE: Successful abstracts will be published on the conference proceedings, therefore please pay close to attention to the spelling of your abstract.
